APA's Announce Host, New Categories for This Year's Gala

Posted: May 24, 2010

After the success of the inaugural Absolute Productions Achievements in 2009, the AP Network is coming back for the second annual APA's.  There are going to be a few changes and surprises to this year's gala, however.

The AP Network has revealed that there will be two new categories this year: Favorite New Series and Reader's Choice: Favorite Series. Favorite New Series will join Favorite Non–AP Network Series as the only two categories that can feature series that are not featured on the AP Network.  The APA judges still have to vote on any of the new series that were released in the last year.  Reader's Choice: Favorite Series, however, will be a fan–based award, where readers and fans of the network can vote for their favorite series during a 1–month period.  The winner is 100% determined by the fans.

"We thought by adding two new categories, one that can incorporate non–AP Network serials and one that the fans can be involved with, we could bring more recognition to the gala and the AP Network as a whole," explains APA Coordinator Dallas Walsh.

Last year, Walsh hosted the APA's.  This year, the duties will be staying in the family.  The AP Network has revealed that Pat Walsh, Walsh's young brother and co–founder of the AP Network, will host the 2010 APA Awards Gala.  Pat Walsh is best known for his former writing projects, LOVE and Almost Golden.  His new series, The Beautiful Ones, is scheduled to be released sometime this summer.
